Obama is a hard core "liberal in regards to government policy"

Those on the left who feel "let down" are the ones who NEVER LISTENED TO WHAT HE SAID, because they were to dazzled by their OWN PROJECTION of what he must be liked based on the forever wrong notion that an African American is ALWAYS super liberal, of course he's NOT part of that tradition.

But we Americans we like to focus solely on color when trying to understand others.

Obama has been steeling himself for this confrontation all his life.

He's watched several times as "his side" went down to humiliating defeats by doing exactly what Glen and his ilk want him to do, storm the ramparts with torches and nooses and punish the clearly evil F/Right Wing as soon as he finishes taking his Oath.

Unlike so many of the "liberal/progressive" ideologues who he shares many beliefs, he knows no matter how wrong the F/Right Wing idiotology is and the horrific effects it had on this nation, such an attack would deliver victory to them just as they are on the precipice of permanent defeat.

To attack like the PROLIBERIVES want him to do would have been about as smart as the Brits. launching a cross channel attack During WWII right after Hitler turned his Attn. to the USSR.

They waited, because they KNEW he had made a grevious mistake, and would pay massively for doing that. In any case, his move to the East only saved them from their own defeat.

It did NOT deliver total victory to their side. They had to wait for him to hang himself with his own very bad decisions.

And that's where Obama is.

WAY TOO MANY AMERICANS were VOTING AGAINST RepubliTHUG idiocy rather than clearly for Obama.

Those voters that delivered victory to Obama could easily switch back IF OBAMA ACTS rashly immediately.

Obama wants to ensure "The MIDDLE THAT WINS ELECTIONS" finally falls clearly and permanently on the Proliberive side of the political fence. To ensure that happens will require time and patience as his "clear and obvious" efforts to "work with the F/Right Wing" flounder through their sabotage and intransigence.

As they continue along the McConnel, Boner(sic) road to political Oblivion Obama will make sure to point out using the Presidential Bully Pulpit how utterly wrong and UnAmerican they are -the way Bill Clinton should have done, but refused to do when he faced his nemisis Gingrich.

The big middle that decided this election by voting against Republicans will start to realize and change, and finally realize "who's on THEIR side."

The RepubliThug senators decrying American workers making too much money, but praising CEOs who make bank while letting their company fail was music to the ears of the Obama strategy team.

Yeah the RepubliTHUGs lost Big Time, but the "mindset" behind their wins has NOT disappeared.

That mindset cannot be changed by "force." It will change only when those that "still sympathize - the blue collar Reagan voters for example" watch as those they follow betray them over and over as Obama tries to do what is best for the nation and them.

Then the "enough moment" will come. The same thing we saw with the 2008 election as it applied to the RepubliTHUG party, BUT THAT HAS NOT yet happened to the "mentality" that allowed it to happen among so many everyday Americans.

All too many of us treat party affiliation like a "team allegiance" and support their side with "team spirit" rather than a political party whose loyalty is dependent on being in sync with their views.

If Texas is any indication, far more people are "liberal in thought" but have been convinced "liberal = pervert" and cannot bring themselves to support the agenda, because of that.

Those millions need to be REINTRODUCED to the TRUE meaning of Liberal, and the meaning of Progressive, before Obama can win this battle.

To attack now allows the RepuliTHUG Kleptocrats still office to use two political nukes without fear of retribution.

1.)They will tie him the mistakenly feared "naturally anti-American" socialist ideology

2.) Electing Obama has NOT nuetered race as a weapon. Should he stumble early on while fighting a bloody political battle with Republithugs, they will all to happily sway doubters with "he's not one of us" tactics.

When the time is right, and the rope tight around their neck, and held up high by their OWN HANDS (words actually) Then we'll see the African side of Obama (in the manner of Great AFrican leaders Mandela and the Khama family) He'll move clearly, decisively and without doubt to remove the last vestiges of the RepubliTHUG "worship the rich" "despise the working class" "lie to the middle class" "ship jobs overseas" kleptocratic idiotology out of its misery for generations to come.

The why of the Economic meltdown is pretty easy to understand

The financial quacks in their genius found a way to so far exceed "real production, real increases in value" to the point that they successfully decoupled "supply and demand."
There is NO greater example of this than the oil market. Where for a couple of years, the price kept rising and rising, without an eminent sign of a shortage.
The sole driving force was the gambling urge of the "investors" all betting the "future" price would go up, and their confidence all boosted by their manipulation of the "overnight" trades that "proved" that prices were going up, even though there were ample supplies. Tight does NOT equal shortage, and was there ever a time when the amount of crude pumped fell short of the demand. I don't think so.
Decoupling "supply and demand" meant they could basically go insane gambling fantasy notions of the future, and manipulate those who believed these market thieves at their word that their "efforts were the best way to channel capital into the most productive way." What a total line of bullshit. What's amazing is how many willingly believed this even though one of the key "most productive ways" was dramatic increases in executive pay for failing!
Of course, once they did breach this cardinal rule of economics, that "price must reflect on a basic level the REAL demand vs. a REAL supply" it was not going to be long before like Icarus they were going to come falling down and crash.
The question is what should be done.
In a general sense, so much of the current "financial gambling circuit" is rotted to the core, and that means it cannot be saved, thus the inevitable deep recession (but don't call it a depression.)
Before things can get better, the rot in the form of NO regulation, the rot in the form of rules designed to reward extreme short sightedness must be eviscerated.
In the place of those laws which legalized what past generations would call criminal should be a new system of regulation that recognizes one principal over all PROFIT FOR THE SAKE OF PROFIT IS GREED, and GREED IS NEVER GOOD.
Profit should be "defined" as the result of making something worthwhile, useful in some way (even as entertainment) that fills a want, desire need in the world.
Financial tools that exist solely to make money from money based on "guesses" on a future price without ever creating anything along the line should be eliminated (that does NOT mean traditional financial tools like Interest - Interest is a product of performing a "service" not gambling).
Honestly the German way is the best way, and should serve as the core of the rebuilding, but there are the Spanish who thanks to their smart decisions are avoiding the crisis. Their decisions should be used to learn and expanded on worldwide as well. An amalgam of the German/Spanish/Traditional Anglo investment rules is what's needed to ensure that the West doesn't end up at the bottom of the world economic spheres once the Chinese rise to the top.
No effort should be made to save the "chief gamblers" who did their best to hide their "pyramid schemes, shell games" under the guise of creative financial investment tools.
On an individual basis, no matter how long it takes, these thieves must be punished, brought down. Society must learn and teach itself that such hubris, selfishness and greed is evil.
It's ironic that we in the USA have had a President obsessed with simple black and white evil who was utterly blind to how evil his "kleptocratically run, gambling driven financial system" was.
Humans live too short lives to expect this lesson to be remembered beyond a generation or two.
It must be instilled in our educational texts, not as a historical footnote, but the punishment of these financial criminals must be put on par with Hitler. For in their own way they have probably caused as many if not more deaths, violence and destruction to the common man as he did, or any megalomaniac warmonger has (Bush I know).
Then on top of it, basic economic education must become mandatory in all AMERICAN schools. I imagine Europeans have always had some sort of basic instruction, but Americans have absolutely NONE. This ignorance is what made so many of my fellow Americans all to eager to believe the garbage being told them as gospel, financial truth.

Obama won 2 weeks ago. All that's left is the drama of the campaigns

Barack Obama has ALREADY WON the election. It was uncertain until McCain pulled the "campaign suspension" stunt, but when he did that, I had a gut reaction that it was over. I never recall a candidate for president doing anything similarly contrived and so empty vs. a vs. his stated reason. All too many Americans up to that point were still all too easily convinced that the lies Republicans tell were true. That stunt to me served as a wake-up call to them, not a "epiphany" moment, but subtle, sustained the kind you need to wake the "sleepwalkers" among us who having placed too much faith in the Republicans lost their ability to distinguish truth from reality until that moment. It was just so absurd.
So I just want to say ahead of time. Congratulations for winning. The next four weeks are just drama, necessary of course, but I know it's over, and Obama has won already. The only question is how big will he win? Will he actually win in the landslide B. Clinton predicts? I'm not sure, but I bet he comes close! :-)

Sarah Palin counts a woman as LESS of a person than a fetus an inch or so long, to a clump of less than 100 cells.

When facing a Solomon's choice like this it is always best to default to the one who is with us in totality, rather than to the one who MIGHT be with us later.

Sarah Palin, PRO-BIRTH forces WOULD SUBORDINATE a Women's right TO THE unborn AT THE MOMENT OF CONCEPTION, BEFORE IMPLANTATION in the womb, even in cases of rape and incest.

They'd outlaw the morning after pill, that can stop a pregnancy within 48hrs.

That IS WHAT Sarah Palin wants.

Her extreme position is a direct and absolute threat to the equality of women today, who have control of their body ONLY IN THE 1ST TRIMESTER.

A woman faces greater and greater hurdles if she tries to terminate her pregnancy after 3months. Few women save to save her own life could successfully obtain an abortion after the 5th month, even though maybe 1 unborn preemie has survived being born so early IN ALL OF HUMAN HISTORY.

This protects unborn who are potentially viable outside the womb, and thus should be given a chance That is sufficient compromise.

The right to terminate a pregnancy as NEVER BEEN absolute.

Any rule that restricts the rights of a woman in favor of an unborn that canNOT survive outside the womb on its own makes her INFERIOR in rights to the fetus, So it is a civil rights issue.

To compound the issue, Sarah Palin's position on aide to single mothers, single parent children is cruel and evil.

She's OPPOSED to any program to help the newborn grow up healthy and become a productive citizen, to say nothing of the new, often teenage mother, like prenatal care funding, after-school food programs, motherhood programs or anything that are anathemas, because its paid for with tax money.

Her version of religion says the women deserve the hardship raising a child alone entails, because she had the audacity to have sex, and everyone knows what sex can lead to right?

The fact that she made a mistake doesn't matter. She must pay.

All too often their solution is born from a religious belief that a woman "sinned" by having sex, and the pregnancy is "punishment" that she cannot refuse. She knew what would happen, well now she should pay the price - yeah right. How twisted.

If you think I exaggerate, visit any group's website who pushes this agenda's, and pose the simple question "why shouldn't a woman be allowed to not have a baby?" You'll get that answer about 1/3rd. the time.

The bottom line is Sarah Palin believes in an agenda that totally and utterly disempowers women.

Sarah Palin is lacking any sort of empathy for other women, because she thinks, because what she has came to her easily, other women who don't have it must be lazy or selfish or just sinners.

What an extreme irony that Sarah Palin is is simultaneously an example of sexual equality and sexual inequality whose extreme views would return women to return to the roles of baby-maker, provider of sex on demand, caretaker, domestic laborer Etc.

She'd be this nation's worst nightmare as president, and thus as a nation we cannot vote for McCain, because that would put her a heartbeat away from that role.
