It's only a matter of time before his diagnosis, either recently in the past, or due to his arrest becomes known.
He has the classic "look" of a Bipolar in a "manic/up/super-energy" state right now, and it explains his seeming inability to measure the risk from personal ruin with any sense of logic or reason.
Of course, for the most part he's been able to go beyond his mindset, because he seems to be one that is far more "up than down."
Which means he operates in 5th. gear while the best among us rarely exceed 3rd.
Something has triggered an escalation in his mood state sometime recently and this is the result one would see in a "hypomanic" individual when he is forced in to a true full-blown "bipolar - manic" state.

After watching enough of this follow the pack coverage, I've come to the conclusion the guy is guilty of practicing politics.
The real criminal is the prosicuter, who fearing he'd get canned like ALL prosicuters do with a new president felt he had to jusitfy being kept on, and what better way to do it than to implicate criminal activity in the selection of Obama's Senatorial successor. How slimy, how republithug.
